Aberden is a fortified city built by the dwarves within a mountain, and is the capital of the Hounhilian Empire.

This generally limits the potential pool of visitors to citizens of the Nucholian Empire. Having a dwarven lineage can include marrying a dwarf of high status, such as one in the royal family. Kaladin Rakkan gained entrance to Aberden this way, by marrying Lovreas Jaderiver.
