A geopolitical map of the continent of Yon'ver.

The continent of Yon’ver is a diverse fantasy world set in the middle of a vast unexplored ocean. It contains eight distinct states, each with their own customs and system of government.

States of Yon'ver

Principality of Panvilia

To the far west lies the Principality of Panvilia, a proud, somewhat isolated nation populated primarily by humans. Panvilia is led by the young and headstrong Nala Blazebough, who has recently succeeded her late father, King Brin Blazebough. The principality is home to many deciduous forests where orc tribes roam. The capital of Panvilia is the city of Neuvy.

Sunwalian Theocracy

Bordering Panvilia is the Sunwalian Theocracy, a land of tropical forests populated mostly by forest gnomes. Their leader, High Priestess Spifi Barkhide, lives in the capital city of Liront and worships Mystra, the goddess of magic. The residents of the Sunwalian Theocracy are fully devoted to their High Priestess, and even more dedicated to the teachings of Mystra.

Whaken

Beneath Spifi Barkhide’s kingdom is the land of Whaken, a chaotic region with a slightly cooler climate. Whaken is home to a frankly concerning quantity of goblins, who do not build settlements themselves but have claimed the ruins of an ancient Yuan-ti society. The largest city, which the goblins refer to as Edfairse, is a violent hive of smugglers and thieves led by a particularly strong hobgoblin named Zabbel the Knife. Zabbel keeps to himself, but is quick to anger and has slit the throats of many he deemed to be challengers to his throne of rubble.

Hounhilian Empire

Moving further east, we find the temperate plains of the Hounhilian Empire, home of the high elves. The high elves, who are led by the reclusive Syrune Evioro, consider themselves to be the most ‘advanced’ of any of Yon’ver’s kingdoms. They have constructed several metropolises throughout their territory, the most impressive of which is named Drakengar. The high elves are a secretive bunch who do not welcome visitors. They are constantly looking to expand their empire… through strictly upright political mechanisms, of course.

Nucholian Empire

Above the Hounhilian Empire is the Nucholian Empire, both the largest and the oldest state in Yon’ver. Mountain dwarves live inside of the hills and valleys of this region, swearing fealty to their patriarch, Beldan Leadbow. Beldan is a patient and intelligent man, but he absolutely loathes Syrune Evioro, who he considers to be his rival (she would never admit it, but she regards him in the same way). The two empires have never truly approached an all-out conflict, but they have spied upon each other for generations, both leaders waiting for the other to step out of line.

Grung Rainforest

To the north of the Nucholian Empire lie warm rainforests that the dwarves avoid due to the ever-growing population of grungs. Grungs are frog-like humanoids who live in a rigid caste-based society and consider art and violence to be one and the same.

Skartu

To the east of the Nucholian Empire, we find the kingdom of Skartu. The north of Skartu is home to locathah, a peaceful fish-like people who adore the wetlands of the region. Most of Skartu, however, is home to roving bands of satyrs, fickle fey creatures who live, laugh, and love to equal extremes. Their leader is a ‘general’ named Chion who occupies a forest settlement named Sarigis. Though the satyrs are not nearly orderly enough to have ever engaged in an organized conflict, Chion is a fearsome fighter and an even more fearsome drinker.

Kholuk

Next is the coastal kingdom of Kholuk, home to the massive tree-top cities of the aarakocra, a bird-like people with an advanced electoral system of government and a scholarly approach to life. Their leader, who lives in Tumunda, is Governor Ecca, a birdman who is part president and part poet. The aarakocra live in harmony with firbolgs, peaceful giants who live in scattered swampy hamlets across Kholuk.

Kingdom of Cyfalos

The eighth region of Yon’ver is the Kingdom of Cyfalos, a land of diverse biomes populated by elephant-folk called loxodon. Their leader, who rules from the capital city of Is, is King Rolruj, a caring man who has led the loxodon for nearly 300 years. The loxodon have positive political relationships with all of the other kingdoms, and are respected across Yon’ver as a sort of intermediary nation. The northwest of Yon’ver contains a few nomadic tribes of goliath, massive people who seem to be carved from the very rock they live upon.

Other places of note

Yon’ver contains many locations of note, such as the Yellow Goat Tavern, the Clirostian Lighthouse, and the Domyuer Bridge, as well as many environmental landmarks.

Rival settlements of tieflings from all demonic backgrounds have recently popped up on the outskirts of the Hounhilian Empire, Whaken, and the Sunwalian Theocracy. Most of these tieflings are cultists of the fire deity Kossuth who have chosen to live in this area due to its proximity to Mount Wadewick, a dormant volcano in the center of Yon’ver. The tieflings hope the volcano will one day erupt and purify the land in Kossuth’s holy flame.

Nedia Island was a relatively small landmass off the northern tip of the Nucholian Empire, inhabited mainly by small colonies of kenku. In 1928 PR, the island disappeared, stranding the kenku who lived on it at sea.

Somewhere in Yon'ver is the Largest Boulder of Yon'ver, which has yet to be officially located and recognized.
