Because of this, citizens of Aleaak seldom ventured outside the walls. On occasion designated merchants would leave for their short trade route, to gather staples (certain potion ingredients, metal products, foreign books, and more) which could not be manufactured inside the walls. Young Kalashtar sometimes went outside the walls for spiritual retreats, though would only visit nearby cities in passing.
